Good day ladies and gentlemen. I present before you today with immense pride and gratitude the reflection on the remarkable journey of our organization. It is indeed an honor to address such a dedicated and passionate group of individuals who have come together to make a difference in our alma mater (Abia State Senior Science School Ariam), Ariam community, and the society at large. Our goal is towards youth development and promotion of sustainable educational projects in Nigeria.

As we all know, time has a unique way of telling our story, and today, we stand on the shoulders of those who have poured their hearts, energy, and sacrifices into upholding the ideals that bind us together. Let us, first and foremost, salute the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of those who have labored tirelessly to keep the flames of unity burning within our association. We salute our friends and partners who through their contributions have made most of our work easier.

Our journey has been one of love translated into action, driven by a common goal—to see our greater selves, to uplift our alma mater, and to make a positive impact on society through our collective efforts. Despite our diverse perspectives and ideas, our shared aspiration has always been crystal clear: unity, progress, and a brighter future for the younger generation. I urge each and every one of us to hold fast to the spirit of togetherness that has brought us this far.

Together, we have achieved remarkable progress, even in the face of unprecedented challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, its post-impact, among others. Let us take a moment to reflect on some of our notable accomplishments:

1. Health Sensitization Program: In 2018, we extended our helping hands to our host community, Ariam, by organizing a health sensitization program. The massive turnout and the medical assistance provided by our association, with the involvement of ten dedicated medical professionals, underscore our commitment to community well-being.
2. Scholarships for Digital Business Education: In 2019, we secured 20 full scholarships for the American Internet Business School’s Digital Business Specialist Diploma. This initiative, aimed at our members and young talents within the state, exemplifies our dedication to equipping our youth with the knowledge needed to shape the future.

3. Support for Alma Mater: We’ve consistently supported our beloved Abia State Senior Science School, Ariam (ABSSSA), by financially supporting the school annually in their registration for the West African Examination Council (WAEC)/National Examination Council (NECO) examinations. Additionally, we are working towards providing scholarships to indigent students, ensuring that they have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
4. Advocating for adequate Teachers: Recognizing the challenges our alma mater faces, we made a significant impact by advocating for the deployment of teachers to ABSSSA. This was done by Association writing to the Secondary Education Management Board with follow up, and that recorded great success that teachers were posted to the school.
5. Moreover, we successfully petitioned the government through the State Ministry of Education regarding the dilapidating nature of the school structures which makes the school unconductive for learning, resulting in much-needed renovations for the school as can be witnessed below.
6. Award of Excellence: We honored Dr. KCK Nwangwa, the Commissioner of Education, who played a pivotal role in the renovation of our alma mater, with an Award of Excellence. This recognition signifies our appreciation for those who support our noble cause.
7. Empowerment Seminar: To empower our youth, we organized a life-changing seminar featuring an international business consultant. This seminar focused on post-pandemic business opportunities, strategies for startups, harnessing the power of the internet for business growth, and accessing scholarships for further studies abroad.
8. Life changing Reconciliation programme: With view of restoring love, peace, unity and more progress, a speak out and reconciliation programme was organized in December, 2022. This programme exposed so many atrocities that goes on in secondary schools which are unhealthy, which finally birthed an initiative to annually create awareness campaign in secondary schools in Nigeria.

In the grand tapestry of our association’s history, these accomplishments represent just a glimpse of what we have achieved together. We have proven time and again that when we come together with a shared purpose and a clear vision, greatness is not just a dream—it becomes a reality.

As the president, I want to reassure you that our organization is on the right path. Our journey is marked by determination, compassion, and the relentless pursuit of positive change. Together, we will continue to forge ahead, breaking new ground, and creating a brighter future for our alma mater, its community and the society as a whole.

Let us rededicate ourselves to the principles that have guided us thus far: unity, commitment, and a relentless pursuit of progress. With your unwavering support and the collective power of our association, there is no challenge we cannot overcome and no goal we cannot achieve.
